Mayfair Premiere

More than a year after the production of the movie, we were finally ready for our premiere! ...And what better venue to showcase this high energy, low budget, local production than Ottawa’s oldest active movie theatre: the Mayfair Theatre, operating since 1932!
The day was somewhat stressful for me since the DVD that was to play that night was not yet completed! I still had to render the final version of the movie, add all the production features, the sponsorship spots, etc.. and then burn the disc. But fear not, it was only 11:00am in the morning and the movie started at 7:00om, I had plenty of time!
Around noon, as I was progressing in my work, I get a call from someone at CBC radio asking if I can do an interview on their drive home program “All in a Day”. Of course I was thrilled with this opportunity but what was really running through my head was: do I have enough time to finish this DVD?
At 4:00pm, the disc was finally done! The interview was set for 5:15pm but it’s all the way downtown... and it was now rush hour! Alain and I quickly set out and slowly made our way through the traffic to get downtown. We just barely made it as he dropped me off in front of the door just minutes before going live! The stress finally subsided as I stepped into the studio and shook hands with Mr. Adrian Harewood, host of All in a Day.

5:30pm, we had about an hour before people started showing up, time to check the equipment with help from the Mayfair technicians. Now, I could finally relax as friends and family started pouring in through the doors! Apart from a few sound glitches at the beginning, the showing was a huge success and definitely a project we plan to do again!
